Rave Green Boys & Girls Club Outreach
Sounders giving in the community

The Seattle Sounders are known for their generosity and caring for the local community in many different ways. One of these ways is for the Boys & Girls Club. The Boys & Girls Clubs of King County and Bellevue has been working with the local community for over 65 years now, providing services to over 30,000 youths ages two to 18. The goal is to help these children “o realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.”

Not only do the Seattle Sounders help provide mentoring services for the many children in the program, but they also help give them match day experiences that they will never forget. These lasting memories do not only provide children with a diverting experience, but also help them with goal-setting, good sportsmanship, social interaction and many other skills. The Sounders have partnered with Xbox to help provide the kids with leadership opportunities, self-esteem building and lessons in responsibility.

The Sounders encourage everyone in the community to help out in giving the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County and Bellevue all of the support they need! Interested persons can volunteer as a big brother or big sister, donate to help support existing programs or even support the programs while shopping! Many companies, such as adidas, Sweet Mickey’s and Buffalo Wild Wings, offer donations to the clubs when you make a certain purchase, buy a gift card or mention that you want to support the organization while you order. Visit the organization’s partner’s page to find out more information and to help while you are already eating out or shopping.

You can also check out the clubs’ events pages where there are fun things to do while supporting the organization, such as attending the golf tournament that helps provide monetary support. You can also check out the various programs that the Boys & Girls Clubs operate to serve the

children and youth of the community, such as Project After School Learn Program, School Out Days, Athletics Programs, Summer programs and even the Great Futures Preschool. There are reading and writing programs, social skill development activities, teamwork building and fair play games and even teen-only activities for older youth, including a teen facility to help youth remain physically active and engaged in safe, meaningful activities.

Thinking about donating? A $100 donation provides all of the kids with a healthy snack for one day at the club, while $200 sponsors a student basketball team for the entire season.
