Torres was born on March 20, 1986 in Panama City, Panama, which is also his hometown. He stands at 6’2 and weighs 195 pounds. The Sounders picked Torres up this year, on August 12, 2015 as a Discovery Signing using Targeted Allocation Money.

So far, Torres has played four games with the Sounders. He has started in each of these games, accumulating a total of 315 minutes on the field. He has taken two shots, scoring no goals but making one assist. Torres has received no red or yellow cards as of yet.

Torres started his youth career playing for Chepo FC in Panama, and stayed with the team until his senior career began in 2004. He made 27 appearances with the team, scoring five goals for the team. After playing for Panama, Torrest traveled to San Francisco in 2005 where he played in 33 appearances and scored four goals. In 2006, he played for Cortulua, a professional Columbian team. He made 39 appearances and scored five goals with the team. From 2007 to 2015, he was officially a player for La Equidad, or Club Deportivo La Equidad Seguro, in Columbia. He made 84 appearances for the team, scoring nine goals. He also went on loan to several teams during this period of his life, playing for Atletico Junior in 2010 with 35 appearances and seven goals, Atletico Nacional in 2011 with 36 appearances and eight goals scored, and the Millionarios from 2012 to 2015. During that time, he made 89 appearances and scored five goals.

In September of 2015, Torres was injured, tearing his ACL. Captain Brad Evans had to fill back in on the defense to cover for Torres while he sits out for the rest of the season, while Damion Lowe took over his roster spot for the time being. His recovery period will take six to nine months, rendering him unable to play for the rest of the season as well as part of the next season. General Manager Garth Lagerwey told the press that it is hard to pinpoint exactly when Torres will be able to play again due to the nature of the injury.
