Cowboys feature Seahawks’ Achilles’ heel

The Seahawks are on the road this Sunday in Big D, though Dallas is playing more like Little D, Seattle should not take them lightly. Lots of focus in on the possibility of Dez Bryant making his return from a broken foot, but the real focus should be on veteran tight end Jason Witten.

The Seahawks defense has been burned throughout this season by tight ends. Week 1 against the Rams of course we saw Lance Kendricks score a later touchdown to complete their comeback, granted Dion Bailey slipped, but it was the first in what has become a disturbing trend. Against Cincinnati they had absolutely no answer for Tyler Eifert. The next week when Carolina came to town there was only one guy they needed to cover and know where he was on the field, yet they let Greg Olsen go loose throughout the game and eventually score the winning TD with under a minute to play.

Among those names there isn’t one who is in Witten’s stratosphere in terms of career accomplishments. Witten prevents a distinct skill set from the aforementioned three, he’s not a speedster a la Tony Gonzalez, but how Witten has made his living is finding soft spots in coverage and picking up the tough yards.

With covering the seam already an issue, look for Witten to have a big day. If I had a fantasy team this year, I would definitely pick him up.
