Ichiro has taken pleasure in the idea that nobody can understand his swing through observation: "They might notice that the position of my knee has changed, but they would not understand why."
His book is full of remarks to this effect. They can't copy me, says he, because they'll never understand me. And you can't understand me by observing me.
