Fan Appreciation is Tonight
Plus details about the Thunderbird mentoring program

The Seattle Thunderbirds are taking on the Portland Winterhawks tonight at the ShoWare Center. The T-Birds are ready to go, but are you? Do you have your tickets? It is also Fan Appreciation Night, so make sure to get your tickets and head over to the game for some fun and prizes. If you can’t get tickets to tonight’s game, at least be sure to listen on the radio or check in via social media for the highlights. The puck drops at 7:05 tonight so you have plenty of time to rally up a crowd of friends and family to get together for discounted group tickets or to set up some snacks and enjoy the game on the radio at home.

The Bird will be taking on Portland again tomorrow evening in Portland. That game will begin at 5:00 PM so be sure to take note of the earlier time if you plan on listening live. Don’t forget about the digital programs you can download on game day! Download the program for the home game against Portland today and enter to win free tickets to the next home game. Just click the graphic that says “Enter to Win” and you will be entered for a chance to win two tickets to a home game. There is a limit of one entry per person, per email address, so be advised that multiple entries will be disqualified.

Need something to do while you wait for tonight’s game? Be sure to check out the T-Birds’ website and Facebook pages where you can see all of the latest recaps, listen to interviews and enjoy the best moments of the season leading up to the playoffs. You can also check out all of the fun volunteer projects that the Birds have been up to lately.

The Birds are so well known for their community service efforts in Seattle, ranging from working at and raising money for the Ronald McDonald House to hosting events to get stuffed animals for children in crisis to mentoring kids one on one at local schools. Children who were mentored by the Birds at Neely-O'Brien Elementary School in Kent were recently given the opportunity to tour the ShoWare Center. They got to see the rink, some behind the scenes areas and even the team locker room, which they really enjoyed. You can see some highlights at the link where there’s a video of the tour.

If you are going to tonight’s game, post about it below. Let us know if you win anything cool during the Fan Appreciation festivities!
