From back when "Stalk" was a separate blog.
Is Brad Miller "Kyle Seager 2.0"?

Seager, but at short.  Check out Seager 2010 vs. Miller 2012.  And Miller actually produced more ISO in the minors than Seager.
Seems like the remaining issue is whether Smoak, Choi or D.J. will round out the foursome.

In the post game after that last game vs the Angels, Blowers theorized that Miller-Franklin top of the order due was perfect for this M's team. Paraphrasing: "Miller is up there hacking right off the bat, getting the team in the midset that they are here to hit. And then Franklin is taking pitches and being selective, balancing the tone set by Miller".

Thanks for sharing it.
The thought that their presence at the top may be fueling some portion of the offensive surge is definitely positive. If it's them going about their business as they do then those positives should continue. If other hitters step up when Smoak and Ibanez aren't slugging .600 for extended periods anymore it will continue. I wouldn't bet either side just yet.

Good words Doc! And what a great future in those two at the top of the lineup. Add Seager and, hopefully, Smoak and you have an infield for years to come. Not to mention behind the plate. I like your KBIZLT. You got it hitting the inside of the ball. I see kids all the time trying to pull every pitch. That keeps you from throwing the barrel at the ball and loosing your power angles. I hope that these kids can have a good second half, keep Z and start something for the future years.

Fascinating that the in-dugout view of it (conveyed by Blowers) should echo our view of it from the third deck.
There's such a symmetry and balance to SS and 2B here, and it's not just nice aesthetically.  It's synergistic in terms of winning games.
