Glad she likes her new home so much.
She wears the #32 uniform for the Seattle Storm. Her name is Alysha Clark and she was the Sun Belt Player of the Year twice in a row in 2009 and 2010. Clark, a forward, was born on July 7, 1987. She was born in Denver, Colorado. Clark stands at 5’10 and weighs 167 pounds. She has been a pro player for three years. Clark was drafted by the San Antonio Silvers during the 2010 WNBA Draft as the 17th pick overall and now plays for the Sounders as a part of their starting lineup.
As a high school student at Mt. Juliet High School, Clark, of Israeli-American descent, demonstrated her hard work and key skills, winning both Midstate Player of the Year by the Tennessean and Class AAA Miss Basketball. She shot 67% from the floor, averaging 24 points during her senior year. She went to college at Belmont and Middle Tennessee, working to help the Lady Bruins make it to their first NCAA tournament. Coach Jenny Boucek says that she has always been a fan of Clark, saying that not only is she a strong player, but that she also comes from a long line of strong Tennessee girls’ basketball players. She said that she always believed that Clark would make it far in the sport.
