A.  One in which they were looking for ERA, rather than for component skills...

Quid Pro Quo Dept.  At LL, our man Sully wrote up a very reasonable little report ---> balanced, though it's on the unimpressed side.  So sue 'em.  

SSI differs in spots, but it's a good read, a great reality check for me, being as I'm impressed with Pineda.  We cross-checked it with gusto.  That's what a GM would use actual cross-checkers for:  he wants one bearish and one bullish, so he can grab the case for and the case against and apply his own judgment.

Tired old Dr. D is a bit fired up this mornin', but not in that direction.  

And we ain't talking about da Bakery neither.  But as to the other big blog(s) .... talk about swinging over the top of a changeup, dude.

Q.  Pregame script called for Pineda to suffer because of undeveloped breaking pitches.

A.  That was the pregame script, and the game was interpreted to fit.

In reality, Michael Pineda showed everything he needs to show to be a star in the American League, starting right now.

Pineda showed me a lot more in that game than I ever dreamed he would.
