<p>Bryce Harper is having a historic-type season. If he keeps it up it puts him in company with the best left-handed sluggers in #History. As of this morning he whacking .333-.465-.683 1.149 w/214 OPS+. Discounting Ruth, who has CAREER #'s very similar to Harper's '15 (.342-.474-.690) and Bonds' cheatin' years, then you're looking at the best years of Killebrew, Williams, McCovey, and Gehrig. Mel Ott didn't do anything like this. Brett's '80 (.390-.454-.664 1.118 w/203 OPS+) even comes up a bit short.
<p>Agree moe re: Lowe. If it's me, I go with MY better guy. I'm a context guy though, not an ancient #History guy. Would the A's have never pitched Eckersly against Gibson again in a tight situation because of the WS home run?</p>
<p>Nah, Lowe has been nails and he would have been my guy easy in that situation.</p>
<p>I do not know enough of the #History to give too much on it.. but feel.overall it has been synonymous with hate in recent years.. the first thing you think of when you think of the flag is generally race related</p>
