Snake and Jake’s Christmas Club Lounge

Located in Uptown, Snake and Jake’s Christmas Club Lounge is a strange and unique little place that everyone should visit at least once.  From the outside, this bar looks like you might be able to push it right over with one strong shove.  But head inside and you’ll find yourself in a true dive bar.  The drinks are strong and cheap, the hours cater to those that want to stay up all night and the customers are friendly.  There’s a reason that Snake and Jake’s has been voted as the best New Orleans Dive Bar on more than one occasion.  And, of course, th

Pat O’Briens

There are plenty of places to get a drink in New Orleans’ French Quarter, but one place you should check out the next time you’re down there is Pat O’Briens.  Billing itself as the place to “Have Fun!”, this bar is a popular location for people to have celebrations of all kinds.  The popularity has grown so much over the years, in fact, that there are now four Pat O’Briens locations.  But just because it has franchised out doesn’t mean that the bar has lost what makes it special - the fact that this is a neighborhood corner bar that caters

Cure

Cure is a cocktail bar where they adhere to a different way of thinking when it comes to drinking.  As opposed to just viewing alcohol as a way to get drunk, they dedicate themselves to serving up the best quality cocktails that they can.  The bartenders are all very carefully trained to know all the ins and outs of what makes an excellent drink and as a customer you will not be disappointed.  Relax in a casual atmosphere and partake of some of the best drinks that New Orleans has to offer.  Has anyone spent a night drinking at Cure before

Bellocq

Located within The Hotel Modern New Orleans, Bellocq has the distinction of being within the remnants of an old brothel.  Since then it has, of course, changed its wicked ways and now is known for being one of the best drinking establishments for those that are picky about their cocktails.  With its intimate lighting and classy décor, you’ll know you’re drinking someplace special.  The prices may be a little higher than other bars, but you certainly get what you pay for at Bellocq.  If you’re looking for a place that impresses, this is it.

Bourbon Cowboy

One of the liveliest places in the French Quarter, Bourbon Cowboy is the kind of bar you can go to and expect to have a great time.  The people there are ready to drink and party and it’s no problem finding someone new to talk to.  It has quite the reputation as well, so you’ll see plenty of tourists there looking to party the night away with the locals.  Listen to some country music, toss back a couple of drinks and get your courage up to ride the mechanical bull.  For a wild country bar experience in New Orleans, check out Bourbon Cow

Coyote Ugly

For those looking to have a truly wild weekend experience, a trip to the world-famous Coyote Ugly is a must.  Given the popularity of this place and the lively atmosphere, you’ll have no problems meeting someone new.  For the ladies, you’re always welcome to join the staff and strut your dance moves on the bar, though the men will have to just sit back and enjoy.  Located in downtown New Orleans and right at the Mississippi River, it’s easy to find but after a few hours you might find it hard to leave.  Ha

Bombay Club

The Bombay Club is one of those New Orleans treasures that offers a healthy mix of great food, great music and great drinks.  Whether you’re out on the town having a first date or perhaps looking to meet someone new, this club is the perfect option.  Located in the French Quarter, Bombay Club has a swanky air to it, the décor elegant and classy yet still comfortable enough to relax in.  Enjoy some Creole food or come down for happy hour.  If you want something different than what most of the French Quarter has to offer, you need to

Natchitoches, Louisiana

About four hours away from the city of New Orleans is Natchitoches, a city felt by some to be a mirror city, albeit calmer and more mature.  Situated on the CaneRiver, this is the oldest town in the state.  For the couple that wants somewhere to go that reminds them of home but still feels very much like somewhere else, this is it.  Listen to live jazz, journey down the famous downtown river walk or stop off and feed some alligators.  Nearby, there are dozens of great historic sites to see, including old
