Union Station Hotel

Located in the old Union Railway Station, the similarly titled Union Station Hotel was recently restored and made open for guests in 1998.  This is a unique hotel that is stunning to look at both inside and out.  A stylish mixture of the historic and the modern, a stay at Union Station Hotel, with its large and personally designed rooms, is a great choice for couples that wish a romantic outing to the city of Nashville.  Since the hotel is close to downtown, it’s an easy walk to many of the music venues that the city is k

The Hermitage Hotel

The Hermitage Hotel has been in operation for more than 100 years and during that time it has gained quite the reputation for excellence.  They focus on preserving the city’s culture and heritage and this amazing old building is beautifully decorated with antiques and has the feel of another age.  The only AAA Five Diamond hotel in the entire state of Tennessee, couples may find that they never want to leave.  The very feel of the hotel seems to cater to romance and they provide some romantic specials to enhance tha

Hotel Preston

Though it may not look like much from the outside, the Hotel Preston has a unique and quirky feel to it and has on occasion been rated as the best boutique hotel in the city.  The casual yet professional atmosphere is great for a romantic getaway without the pressure of too much luxury.  It is located outside of the city yet close enough in to make travel to Nashville’s many sites easy and convenient.  While at the hotel, couples can enjoy the giant swimming pool or take advantage of one of the romantic special packages.  When out on

'Red Widow:' Another lofty ABC drama that might not make it

Do you hate-watch 'Smash' too?

When NBC's Smash first debuted last season, I was immediately intrigued. I'm a theater geek, and I loved the idea of a TV show that followed the ups and downs of Broadway. Sure, I had concerns that maybe one of the show's big stars, former American Idol runner up Katherine McPhee, might be a bit too wooden and one-dimensional, but I gave it a go.

Fall Out Boy is back to "Save Rock and Roll"

Monday started out with a bang for fans of the pop punk band Fall Out Boy. After a three-year hiatus, the band announced a new album and tour and dropped a new single. The news sent shock waves through the social media universe, with everyone offering opinions. My Facebook timeline lit up so quickly I couldn't keep track of all the comments (good and bad). For those of you who thought emo was dead, guess what? It isn't. And I'm not sure if that's a positive thing.
