There’s been a bit of a stink in NYC lately concerning the health of carriage horses. A group of animal activists are claiming that a horse in the streets of New York is subject to an amount of stress that borders on cruelty. So they want the horse-drawn carriage trade to be made illegal and the animals in question to be sent out to pasture. But new evidence suggests that living in the wilderness is actually worse for horses.
