Re: Aoki coming in because Iwakuma's headed out ... sure hope not. But few doubts here that the Nintendo shot-callers much prefer a #Japanese jersey to sell in the stores. And am not sure there's anything wrong with wanting to be #Japan's team. ... which reminds me: Ice, Taro, *are* the Mariners one of #Japan's top 3 teams still?

I wonder if the Aoki's rumors mean that Iwakuma is a more difficult sign that I believed. Always have to have one player from #Japan. Aoki would be a 4th outfielder or the platoon partner Guti. Rather have Iwakuma.

I want Oh / Stone Buddha. Start with Benoit or Wilhelmsen as an alternate until his feet are wet, then let him go. His record in #Japan tells me there might be quite something in store.

The margin for error when you don't walk or have pop is thin, I guess is what I'm saying. You can much more easily post Willie Bloomquist seasons, especially when your IsoP is .080 as Marte's is. This year he had it all the way up to almost a hundred. You might project doubles to turn into homers for a young kid, but getting a slap-swinger to turn singles into doubles is harder. Even Ichiro struggled with that.
