But Chrome gives me fits with login, which is why I am now anonymous, even though I'm apparently logged in. Anyway, some ideas on things to work on/improve.

Whether it's IE or Chrome, it also somehow triggers a change out of Aero to Win Basic if I try to stay on the SSI page too long (3-5 min on IE, 10 min on Chrome). I believe that is due to the video cache loading up - from what I can't say. But yours is one of two sites out of hundreds I visit that are doing it to me. Shannon Drayer's page at mynorthwest.com does it to me only when the ad server tries to load the page as an ad repeatedly and iteratively, but I can recognize when the header is in an ad space and F5 it until a real ad loads. SSI is more a mystery.

With IE, on a dual-core i5, CPU demand goes to >50% and stays there until the page locks up and needs to be recovered. On chrome, it's more like 20% with regular drops to 2-3%, then jumping back up to >20%. Memory load is ~100MB for IE and 30MB for chrome. As I say, chrome is better, but still a bit flakey and periodically requires killing the process and reloading the page.

Reply - mickiholley - 10/30/15 10:46am
I use Chrome and have not had the CPU demand, but have had to reload or just completely close out and then reload for it to work properly.

Admin - any chance the gross CPU demand and page lockup problems are going to be solved soon?

I can see (but I'm not saying it's the best move) Dipoto deciding to take the #Money difference between Smith and Trumbo vis a vis Flores and Montero and using it for another starter after Iwakuma (Fister, please), or to sign the Korean closer. With a decent CF, Flores/Guti in LF and Cruz/Miller/Blash in RF might give decent OF coverage with some impact hitting. Add in Kivlehan if/when O'Malley falters, and it looks rather promising. Smith and Trumbo ARE #Birds in hand. Then there's the bush and who might fly away.

The problem from the roster side is that Flores and Montero both are out of options. Flores might be a decent platoon partner with Guti and can backup 1B, while Montero continues to tantalize with the bat and is not a total wreck at 1B. Even without Morrison, corner OF and 1B is crowded, and Flores IS an upgrade over Trumbo, Smith, or Cruz in athleticism.
