Good stuff.

All the switch hitters are a lot stronger on the LH side as well, so really either than CF and C we'll finally have an offense suited to Safeco.

Might make sense to bring in a RH masher with a crazy wide platoon split like Andruw Jones to balance things out. Would love Jones as a bench bat or platoon DH.

May I suggest to take in consideration also RH hitters able to go the other way ? Or at least to platoon vs LHP.

Even back when Bavasi was in charge, it was something the team tried to emphasize.  Hence, you have Tui, who is decently proficient at hitting to various fields (or was at the minor league level at least, haven't checked recently), but they gave Saunders more of a pass because he was left-handed.

Well... the thought process of getting right-handed hitters with opposite field power was strong in the mind of Bavasi's group.  It was the dominant mindset behind him willing to settle for Sexson (who had a long history of RF-power) after Delgado passed on us and pursue Beltre whose 2004 season consisted of a lot of RF power.

When the two failed, it wasn't because Bavasi consciously got two RH pull hitters, it was because he didn't have the talent/ skill/ ability to see that they would break down due to age (Sexson) or fall back into nasty old pull hitting habits (Beltre).
