-I'm almost starting to wonder if the Ms might be best off trading Felix for a monster package... they screwed this one up by failing to extend Felix a couple years ago. Offer him a Zito-ish extension and if that doesn't work it might be time to throw him on the trade market.

-If Tui is your new 2B, what do you do with Lopez and 3B? I can see keeping him for another year as your 3B in the Felix stays scenario, in the Felix is traded scenario you may just want to sell high here.

-Could Tampa Bay end up being the best .500 team in history? The AL East is beyond rediculous.

to see the offers on Felix.  :- )

The locals who are so focused on $/WAR will realize soon that the Mariners could pile up huge 10's of 1,000,000's in $/WAR by hauling in 4-5 ML-ready impact players.  Each one of those guys we get for Felix is going to give a Guti-, Lopez-type performance profit, and we're talking a handful of them.

As opposed to that, Felix' performance profit will be very modest.  No-brainer from that $/WAR paradigm, right?   Make the Bedard/Jones industry dynamic work in our favor?  :- )

Not sure I understand what the problemo is, champ.  What's wrong with Lopez at third?

No problems at all. I could see him being even more valuable at 3B since I think he fits there defensively quite well.

It comes down to whether Lopez or his trade value is more valuable. It completely depends on the return.

And we remember from the Washburn & Snell trades, Jack's not about going in a "later" direction, he's about going in a "different" direction...

If he gets a chance to bring in his own handpicked young players...
