I think I got how Zduriencik and front office operate.

1. They use something like WPA or REW to make players accountable.

The worst 3 players (Pitchers and Offense each) at WPA 2009 have been shown the door.

Beltre at -1.72, Balentine at -1.44, Cedeno at 1.44

Morrow at 1.69, Silva at -1.28, Batista at -1.27

French at -1.10 is still on the roster but I will get on it next.

This is very important.The pennant is won in part by super players. But it can be won by minimizing players who hurts the team.

The players who had WPA under  -1 are:

Mariners had 7 listed above.

NYY had 5 Cano Molina Chamberlain Wang and Mitre.

LAA had only 2 Vlad and Bell.

2. M's FO have patience and do everything to let the player play in good environment.

French had a WPA of -1.10 but he is still on roster. French (-1.10) and other players like Jack Wilson (-0.85) who are new to the game or new to AL, new to Safeco they have time too prove. FO have patience here.

Some think that Zduriencik is clearing Bavasi players. It is only half true. At least the players who have been cleared at MLB level prooved that they did not perform.

Washburn and Branyan performed in 2009 so I think he may be back if the $$$ are not high.

But players with injury will not signed so soon.

Morrow has been given all his wishes.

He wanted to start at begin of SP. After the flue he wanted to be RP because he wanted to on the 25 roster. All his wishes have been given.

He just did not win games. He was a looser.
