G_Moneyball and I got together Friday evening for some brews and to talk baseball.  We touched on quite a few topics, but we did spend some time on the Bobby V idea.  Together, we both love the idea of Valentine managing the club with preferably Darrin Brown as his bench coach or even 3rd base coach.  Darrin has intimate knowledge on what makes a lot of these players tick (Saunders, Moore, Tui, Josh Wilson, French, etc.) and what it takes to get the most out of them.  The tandem of the two would be "perfect".

Valentine would be the glue that holds it all together, and Brown would be the guy who interfaces a bit more directly with the younger players.

I like this idea.  I like it a lot!

But if you, G and D agree on any one thing, you know it gotta be so.

Huh!  Thought the Valentine idea would be considered crazy, but here it is endorsed by the best.  Guess we're in like flint, eh? :- )

If Kruk works, Sweet Lou is a shou-in...

Think we heard that Lou did some TV for George back in the day, so it's not like he couldn't clean up for ESPN, I guess.  Stand corrected.

Can't imagine that Howard appreciated hearing the KJR guys laughing about Piniella's dirty undershirts, though...
